One of great things about Meyer Najem’s Business Development team is that the members have experience in the actual construction piece, in addition to being involved in the front-end of projects.
For example, Dan Lawson, our Vice President of Business Development, has more than 15 years of experience as a Project Manager under his belt. Dan joined the Air Force after college where he received training in construction technology. He was assigned to a Civil Engineering squadron at Scott Air Force Base and was made project manager in charge of the painting, roofing, asbestos abatement and roads.
“I never had any desire whatsoever for construction,” he says. “I went into the Air Force to learn a technical skill, and that’s what I was given. That’s how I got into construction.”
After returning to civilian life in 2002, Dan continued his construction career, managing various types of construction projects with several companies. He came to Meyer Najem as a Project Manager in 2014, where he discovered that business development was another passion. His background makes it easier for him to help customers understand the process and the options available and then select solutions that meet their needs best. As Dan says, “There are so many pieces and parts to the construction industry. But I love it. I love selling Meyer Najem.”
