Community Health Network, North Carmel Cancer Pavilion

The Carmel Cancer Pavilion did not close while we renovated it. Patients kept coming for treatment, which shaped every decision on the job.

We rebuilt four suites inside the operating building.

  • Oncology gained 16 infusion bays, 10 exam rooms, a phlebotomy and lab area, and compounding cleanrooms built to USP 797 and USP 800 standards, the pharmacy environments where chemotherapy drugs are safely prepared.
  • Breast imaging brought mammography and bone densitometry under one roof with dressing and registration space around them
  • Physical therapy added a gym and two individual treatment rooms for patients rebuilding strength during and after treatment.

All of it happened behind infection control barriers, phased so that construction never reached the patients on the other side of the wall.
