Flagler County, Multi-purpose Emergency Preparedness Facility
This 15,000 SF grant-funded multipurpose facility serves Flagler County in two capacities: a versatile community space on the fairgrounds during normal operations, and a fully equipped emergency response and sheltering facility when severe weather or other crises strike. The pre-engineered metal building was sited to remain fully operational even when surrounding infrastructure is compromised, supported by backup utility systems, including a well that supplements municipal water and a standby generator that backs up city electrical service.
Inside, the facility features a commercial kitchen, dedicated storage areas, and a flexible multi-use space that converts to emergency housing and sheltering for displaced residents. The result is a dependable community asset that strengthens Flagler County’s resilience and gives residents a safe place to gather, both in good times and when it matters most.
